RIP, Colin Jackson. You Have Gone But You Will Never Be Forgotten.

Sadly, last Monday (November 16) we said our final farewells to Colin Jackson. He first came to Tipton Family Church on Christmas morning last year and was a popular and well-liked figure.

The funeral service was at Gornal Crematorium and The Lord’s My Shepherd was the first hymn.

We also had Abide With Me, another thoughtful and appropriate hymn for the occasion.

A few people from church have written their own personal tributes to Colin.

‘It made Christmas Day 2019 extra special, when Colin and his family first walked into our church. Colin then went on to become a regular attender, along with his son, James, and we all grew to love him for his openness, honesty and kindness.

Even though we only knew Colin for a few, short months, he has already been greatly missed and will fondly remain in our memories.’

Debby

‘Colin breezed into our church full of confidence and he was never afraid to challenge or question anything he didn’t understand.

I saw him as an ally, and in the short time I was privileged to know him, he left an imprint on my life.’

Andy

‘It has been nearly a year since we first met Colin and his family, on Christmas Day 2019, at our church service. He was so proud of his young son, James.

He quickly became a regular and a friend. Colin had a unique style and will be greatly missed.’

Lord, we thank you for Colin’s life. We thank you that he touched all of us in a positive way. Above all though, we thank you that he reached out to you. Amen.
